Foliage Reports - Southeast United States

Foliage Report #8

September 28, 2005

The region is beginning to cool off after experiencing warmer than normal temperatures for most of September. It is believed that those warm temperatures have delayed the onset of foliage change. Much of the region still has little to no change. The exception being along the Appalachian Mountain chain in eastern West Virginia, western Virginia, and western Maryland where low color (11% - 30% change) is being reported. There are also isolated reports of moderate color (31% - 60% change) in eastern West Virginia.

Leaf drop is very low to low throughout the region.
