Foliage Report #9

September 29, 2004

Fall color continues to slowly progress in the region. In the higher elevations in northeastern West Virginia and extreme western Maryland, the first reports of high color (61% - 80% change) have arrived. In that area, the foliage season is a bit ahead of schedule.

Here are some of the places to visit now for great foliage displays.

West Virginia - Much of Tucker County including Thomas, WV (along U.S. Route 219).

Maryland - The exteme southwest corner of the western panhandle. U.S. Route 219.

Leaf drop is mostly very low.
