Foliage Report #2

September 4, 2004

Foliage color remains in the "Little/No Change" category which is to be expected at this early stage of the foliage season. Some early color, while spotty, has been observed in various species of maple as well as dogwoods. Next week, we will be watching the remnants of Hurricane Frances as possible heavy rains and windy conditions affect portions of the region. The good news is that no hurricanes have directly hit the mid-Atlantic coast to this point. The hurricane season in the Atlantic begins on June 1st and ends on November 30th.
